French to English translations & copywriting for the creative industries
Making wine is not just a matter of crushing a few grapes. It requires skill, heavy physical work, flair and perseverance. It is much more than a full-time job so you may be wondering where you're going to find the time and energy to introduce your wines to English-speaking customers. You'll need an English version of your website and a social media presence but is your English really up to the job?
Wine translation deviates from the purely creative as it also requires significant technical knowledge. It also happens to be my niche specialism.
I not only love wine (who doesn't?) but am fascinated by the whole process, from vine to glass. I'm also increasingly asked to translate for organic and biodynamic producers.
Champagne is my background, having spent three years with Mumm Champagne in Reims (I also worked for drinks giant Diageo for 13 years). In December 2015 I consolidated my knowledge with the WSET level 2 diploma which I passed with distinction.
I translate websites, leaflets, reports and many other documents for winegrowers throughout France.
I can also write your English social media posts, blogs and website copy from ideas or a brief in French.
